How Does the Brokerage Calculator Work?
When you trade stocks in India, multiple charges are levied on each transaction. This calculator computes all statutory and broker charges to show your net profit/loss and the breakeven point you need to cross for profitability.
Net P&L = (Sell Value - Buy Value) - Total ChargesWhere:
- • Brokerage = Varies by broker (₹0 delivery, ₹20/order or 0.03% for intraday)
- • STT = 0.1% on sell (delivery) or 0.025% on sell (intraday)
- • Exchange = 0.00345% of turnover
- • GST = 18% on (Brokerage + Exchange charges)
- • SEBI = 0.0001% of turnover
- • Stamp Duty = 0.015% on buy value
- Brokerage: Most discount brokers charge ₹0 for delivery, ₹20 flat for intraday
- STT: Securities Transaction Tax - 0.1% delivery, 0.025% intraday (on sell side)
- Exchange Charges: NSE charges 0.00345%, BSE charges slightly lower
- Stamp Duty: State-level charge on buy transactions (0.015% avg)
